Does anyone think Lance Armstrong can win the Tour de France again?

I’ve heard that Lance Armstrong is making a come back with the Astana team next year. If he goes in for the tour de france I think he can win it again, as there are no really strong all rounders at the moment. What does anyone else think?

Personally I think the odds are against it. At almost 38 he is getting old to be the top rider in the tour. Riders his age can win one-day events, but the Tour is something quite different. Furthermore, it’s a team event and there has to be question whether he will have teammates willing and able to adequately support him. He has already stretched his career to more wins than anyone else, so another has to be considered a long shot. That said, if anyone can he can.

The could actually depend on how he could fare this year. I mean more people and all of them are different, I think…
    Oh well, hopefully he does.

Well if he does it will be a great day for mankind. As you say there are not many great all rounders in the sport of tour de france so yes it is possible. And if lance puts the work in as we all now he can. he could once again become no1 in the tour de france. All the best Lance here to a great race next year.

As much as I hope he does, I think it is unlikely. I hope he puts up a good showing, but first and foremost the charity he riding for benefits greatly.

Lance Armstrong is an American Hero. Athletes often are given that status and it is unjustifiable. Lance though is a symbol for hard work and dedication to comeback from Cancer and win the most prestigious bicycle race once, never mind multiple times.

    Wear yellow!

Not sure. The competition’s better than it used to be now but I think Lance has got what it takes to get up there with them.

I’m sure someone in Vegas has already set the odds for it.

Can he? Sure. Will he? That’s the point of having the race.

this is first year for basso and contador returning to the tour and they have age on lance. i really dont know. we’re just going to have to see how his body holds up. its one thing to do a one day race and train. undertaking a continuous regime like pro does is entirely another ball of wax. i would say if his body can adapt and hold up, he has the tools.

I don’t agree at all! It is not that I’m an Lance Armstrong hater but
1.look at his last win he wouldn’t have made it if it wasn’t for a big fall of another team.
    2. Have you heard what intense programs he does. Not doing them for 3 years means he is lost all of his form not to mention that he has been training to get in his best form back then 3 years and not it’s only one year that he has.
3.Not to say bad things but have you watched tour de france lately there are many awesome riders which are very good at the moment.
    4. I like lance and I would be very happy if he wins again but I think that he’ll need great luck!
