How do you enter the Tour De France?

Does anybody know how you get selected to race for one of the teams in the Tour De France?

Sure. It’s pro sports. Cyclists sign contracts with teams. Teams are looking for the best riders in general and the riders are looking for the most money and best opportunity to win – in general. Teams get selected to the TDF. If your good enough, your team selects you as one of the 9 to ride the Tour.

You have to be a pro cyclist to enter. Your team will enter the 9 riders it wishes to enter into the race. To get onto the pro team in the first place is the challenge!

    3. get the attention of a team (manager, coach, sponsor, etc.)
    4. if you are lucky enough to get selected for a team, then hope that the team gets invited to the Tour

Fred M has it, you have to do local races, join a club, then a team, (this is hard work), then try and get the attention of managers etc be persistent, try and get into a team that will be invited to the TDF

You first have to sign a contract with a team and if you are lucky they might pick you to ride. You have to be good though.
