Is Bike riding good for losing weight?
I want to focus more on stomach fat. Would months of bike riding take care of this? How long would I have to ride.
Cycling is a great way to lose weight. You can’t spot reduce, the fat comes off every where at the same rate. Start out with short rides until your butt gets use to the saddle. You want to do a very easy 10 min warm up ride and then start pedaling at 70-90 rpm’s in a gear that is easy to spin. You want to ride for time and not speed. Work your way up to an hour a day and you will see results. Cycling will help to reduce your appetite so ride before you eat. A proper diet will help you to lose more weight. Give yourself a few weeks to get your metabolism up and running. You want to avoid that I can eat more because I am exercising trap. It is too easy to out eat any calories you burn on the bike.

Any exercise is good & cycling is some of the best (and most enjoyable) but nothing can make up for diet. You could ride 3 hours every day, if you ate 1 Outback Bloomin’ Onion it would negate all the work of one day. You can’t control where you lose weight, but your stomach will lose fat along with the rest of your body.
Watch what you eat & drink (avoid sodas), ride at your ability level, and you will lose weight. I lost 45 pounds and have kept it off by commuting by bike most days.

All very simple. Cut your food intake to 2000 cals/day and ride for a hour a day. Every day. You’ll lose weight, Your body will decide where, not you. Yes, months of eating less and riding more will take care of "this."
