Why do they call the race tour de france,tour de france?

Its not tourng thats racing. Be better to call it race de france.

Tour means race in French.

    in french it can also have other meanings other than a tour like youre being guided through a museum or something. so it is used more extensively than a ‘tour’ in english. but they really are doing like a tour through the country.
